Wedding: Pretty in Pink

A week ago, Adeline’s cousin tied the knot with her distance lover from Nepal in our humble town Kuching.

We have discussed with her cousin and she has chosen fuchsia & pink as her wedding themed color. In order not to be wallowed in a sea of pink, we have added a hint of purple & white to enhance the elegance of the night.

We love how such simple decor could turned out so heart-warming & cosy and it was such joy that night with our smile booth & props corner. It was such a hit among the young guests!

I think not only the young ones loved the booth, a few of our young-at-hearts were having the time of their life too!Last but not least, like always, we love to see smile & laughter.

Birthday: Butterflies in pretty pink & purple party

Time sure flies, it is another fabulous day for Nicola as she turned 10 this year. Last year we did a Hello Kitty party for her and this year’s we threw a butterfly themed party for her in her favorite colors: Pink & Purple.

Strips & strips of crepe papers as draping instead of fabric can be such pretty sight. Try something different today!

Magazine: Brides’ Wedding Drama

When William proposed, he did it very romantically – with roses, down on his knee, declaring how much he loves Ann, and what she meant to him (every girl’s dream isn’t it?). When Ann opened the ring box, her heart drop – not because of the diamond’s size, but glaring back at her – was the MOST hideous looking ring.

William then goes on-and-on – about the ring transcendent from his great-great-great-great grandmother, carrying over many generations and countries, and how it is always passed on the first born of the family. He then stressed, how important the ring is as a family heirloom, and how happy his mum and grandmother would be should she to carry on the tradition.

Ann’s loves for William, and her excitement of spending the rest of her life with William bores beyond just the ring, so she said “Yes!”. Now with “something-old”, that perhaps too old, is giving her the creeps even to wear it. What can she do? The ring obviously is something William & his family is proud of.

Hideous as the ring may be, it is still a family’s tradition and it’s advisable to respect that. Since it is an engagement ring, Ann can still choose the wedding she likes to wear. Since it is a family heirloom, it’s best to have it kept safe and sound, says Adeline of Weddings by Events Horizon.

Bye to generic weddings
Company prides itself in making big day of clients a truly memorable one

Weddings are a turning point in one’s life. It is a symbolic and sacred act that many couples will want to cherish for the rest of their days. However, having that dream wedding can give the bride and groom a real headache without the right preparation and coordination.

That is where wedding planners come in. Here in the city, the specialist is Weddings by Events Horizon, whose product and services have become a trend.

Weddings by Events Horizon first took off in January 2012 when its first clients gave it full control of planning and coordinating their special day. Since then Weddings by Events Horizon has not looked back.

“We’re in the business of making our clients’ weddings and other events as successful as possible, tailored to suit their individual needs with minimal hassle.” said the company’s event and wedding producer Adeline Ho.

“Usually, couples will enlist the help of their friends or family members to help them with their wedding preparations, hire a venue coordinator or even try to do everything themselves. The thing is, you don’t actually want your family and friends running around trying to organize everything for you on your big day. You want them to sit back and relax, enjoy the atmosphere and take part in the celebrations without having to worry about this or that.

“The same goes for the couple. Why stress yourself out during your own wedding when you can have someone plan everything for you?

“And no, a venue coordinator isn’t a wedding planner, he is there just to take care of the venue, not your entire wedding,” she explained.

Weddings by Events Horizon’s small, dedicated and experienced team of individuals specialize in theme conceptualizing, assisting with selection and booking of ceremony and reception venues, finding and negotiating with suitable vendors, decoration, wedding logistics and on-site coordination, just to name a few.

“We will customize our packages and services to accommodate the couple’s budget and needs, first by helping them visualize their ideal wedding setup, searching for vendors such as florists, entertainers, photographers and videographers, creating a timeline, having a full rehearsal and finally moving on to the big day itself.” said Ho.

Since its conception, the team has carried out numerous successfully planned weddings, including beach themed weddings and the more exotic Arabian and Oriental themed ones.

Its past clients have also vouched for its services with glowing testimonials.

“We like how Weddings by Events Horizon handled things so professionally for us. We feel that the team was very helpful, wam and understanding to our needs and demands, especially me, the bride, who was super anxious during the entire process. The team really made our dream wedding come true.” wrote newlyweds Chi Yen and Yi Fang.

“Obviously, we put a lot of emphasis on our clients. We like to get on a more personal level with them and having a thorough understanding exactly what the couple want and making it theirs in every way, instead of having a generic kind of wedding,” enthused Ho.

“Just knowing that at the end of the day, no matter how worn out we all are, being able to transform someone’s dream into a reality makes our job extremely satisfying,” she smile.

Birthday: Almost Famous

We had a blast last weekend planning & arranging for a friend’s birthday party with a very special theme: “Almost Famous”. Yes, it is based on the famous movie by Cameron Crowe, a semi-biographical film depicting his obsession with music in the 1970s. Just like the birthday boy’s love for music, this theme is seemingly fitting.

Revolving around the 70s, we worked around the hippie influence (think rainbow colors, smiley face and the infamous peace sign). We even had the invitation “hand-written”.

The dinner party was held at the Junk, a western-serving restaurant. We were in such great luck to have booked a (whole) private room for the party. Junk is the perfect venue for its vintage-oriented decor and not to mention, their food served were remarkably amazing.

We got Appetit to make us the most amazing rainbow cake, cake-pops & cookies. Seeing them alone was a pretty sight. The boys were even asking for more!

Who doesn’t love a polaroid? Choose a prop & strike a pose! Trust us, we couldn’t get enough of these.

Birthday: Enchanted Garden Fairy Party

How amazingly fast time flies (literally)! It felt like it was only yesterday……
Stella has now turned TWO!

We must add, however, this year’s celebration came with a few challenges. It was with great relief we managed to shift the entire venue to Fourpoints by Sheraton Kuching 3 days before the event day. That said we had to change our initial plan from A to C, starting all over from scratch beginning from styling to design as our original venue was an outdoor garden area.

This year’s, we actually had to pull an Enchanted Garden Fairy theme indoor. To bring out the garden theme, we had the entire room covered in green carpet to depict garden hedges and we actually rented & custom made hedges, flowers, mushrooms and butterflies to add to the magical touch. And boy, we were in for a treat with colorful balloons as the finishing. The main themed colors are pastel pink & green, with variety of balloon colors to make the party pops.

The highlights of the day: D.I.Y cupcakes, pinwheels, balloons drop, piñata specially flown in from USA, customized party hats & Evian bottles, patio furnitures and the BEST: Photobooth courtesy of Photobooth Events! Finally a portable photo booth for hire and what’s more to ask for, it is available in Kuching! Do check out their website for info, rates & booking.

Birthday: Carnival Party

Stella has turned ONE!

For her first birthday, we have chosen the theme Carnival Party for the fun & colors and also what’s best for outdoor but carnival! Everything from the smallest details (The party hats, paper cups, door gifts, table cloth, dessert table etc.) were personally handmade & customized.

We even set up a ticket booth at the entrance. We’ve chosen to stick to warm pastel colors as the main themed colors such as light pink, blue, green, yellow & purple.

For games & activities, there were inflatables, games booth, face painting, air-brush tattoo, clowns, photo booth, live band, stage games and magician. It was an afternoon filled with fun, fun & more FUN!
